Down time

We have been enjoying some much needed down time this week. I have my poison ivy rash under control but it still bugs me so I take Benadryl to control the itching. Plus I have special rash cream, and I used the Burt's Bees soap to get it to dry out. I have it on my back, chest, wrists, neck, and breasts. I will be as good as new for our trip to Mississippi next week. But for now I am feeling irritable and not like doing much.

I want to post so many things about our trip to Austin last week! But I don't know where to begin. For the most part it was a really good trip. We over did it a few times and Camden got very out of sorts which caused some uneasiness between a cousin, aunt and I. But I stood up for myself and my son. I am sure my relationship with her will suffer, but I feel I did the right thing in as nice of a way possible.

My family treated us to lots of good food, use of a pool key to a pool with gorgeous live oaks, got work done on my van by a friend of the family, went on the Zilker Zephyr mini train ride at Zilker Park (that's when Camden touched me with poison ivy hands) got our pic with a huge steer with horns, got to know my cousin's sweet Chinese wife a little, went to the Austin Zoo--which is unlike any zoo I have been to, and enjoyed the Austin scenery. The Austin Zoo was a hit to my kids. (The Austin Zoo is a rescue zoo and provides sanctuary to displaced animals from a variety of unfortunate and often neglectful situations. )

My sister is going to help me streak my hair tomorrow or Friday. I did a few strands and I am excited because I need a change! She likes the color too. I am a little sad that it is semi-permanent and will wash out by the end of August or sooner.

I need to go check on my kiddos. Smiles to all!

Good for you for standing up for yourself and Camden. Sometimes I feel like I need to do a better job at standing up for my kids (with certain people more than others). Thanks for the boost!

leave the red in extra, extra long and it may last longer than you think. My semi perm. red lasted months, and didn't come out completely until I bleached it out. Can't wait to see pics! Have fun in MS....happy travels..Vicki
