Dy NO MITE!!!

Howdy from Texas, y'all. We made it to my sister's around 9 am today. We stayed in Ardmore, OK and left at about 4:30 a.m. this morning. The boys slept 3/4 of the way here and were so glad we left early. It made it such a peaceful trip. I only had to deal with the darkness and rain. It rained some on our drive yesterday as well. We found a really good deal on a hotel and it was a nice one (Springhill Marriot). I wanted to stay for the waffles and sausage this morning, but I woke up at 2 .m. and saw dreaded rain and decided to head out early.

We saw the Sam Houston monument off I-45 in Huntsville when we drove past. Holden had remembered it from previous drive bys. Camden said, "Wow!" It was funny! Both boys did so well on the 900 mile drive here. The boys learned a new phrase while listening to the the radio: "Dynomite!!" Holden laughed when he heard it on the radio. I explained how I used to watch, "Good Times" when I was a kid and how comical the actor is that says "Dynomite" on that show. We all laughed hard and made a habit of saying dynomite when something cool happened to us; like when we made it here safely this morning.

I was thinking dynomite when I saw the downtown Dallas sky line against a misty, black sky as I drove through at 6 a.m. this morning. I had seen it before many years ago and I loved it! It was so magical to gaze (more like glance over with white knuckles b/c the rain and traffic) at its enormity, modern buildings, and lighted effects as I drove through. I was glancing so much that I drove passed my I-45 exit while on I-35. But luckily I caught the next I-45 exit soon after. The same thing happened to me in Kansas City, MO, but I made the most of it and caught the next exit. Love the way that happens in some big cities.

I have the car almost unpacked and my bike put together. We did water balloons today with my boys and my nephew, Robbie and then later with a neighbor boy, Nathanial (from Philippines) to beat the heat and humity! I took a nap with Camden today while my sister took Robbie and Holden to a fun pizza place. It was awesome to get extra rest after the long trip! Tomorrow will be another dynomite kinda day!
We miss Cliff, and home, but we are going to make the most of this summer!!!
