Spring break's almost over

We've had a perfect week and we are all sad to see it is almost over. The only downside so far is my front brakes on my van are about out of commission. Ooops. A friend of the family in Houston will be fixing them tomorrow and then the kids and I are heading to Austin to see more family. Austin is one of my favorite places and I am looking forward to seeing the bluebonnets in bloom and more relatives. They are excited about us coming too. We'll be there at least a few days. We've had some cloudy weather on and off but today it is sunny and going to be at least 70. This afternoon we're meeting a grandmother for a picnic. It should be a fun time.

I'm so grateful for this time with my family and kids. I was able to go on a long walk by myself yesterday and the kids and I go on walks everyday. I have seen a lone road runner (Texas state bird) a few times in the same area of the neighborhood. I saw a wild turkey yesterday and some deer a few days ago. The kids had fun playing with frogs the other night and digging in the dirt for fun. It is very peaceful where my sister lives and we love it here. Hopefully we'll have nice weather to look forward to when we get home! Come on Iowa spring! I love those tulips and daffodils that come in April.
