I saw these quotes today on Facebook:
"When a child hits a child, we call it aggression. When a child hits an adult, we call it hostility. When an adult hits an adult, we call it assault. When an adult hits a child, we call it discipline. Don't you see what is wrong with that pic?"
“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.” ~Albert Camus
"Let's raise children who won't have to recover from their childhood" - Pam Leo
I love it! They re-inspire me to want to live exactly the way we are living most of the time! I'm still recovering from my own childhood, so I do have my moments. But overall I am pleased with my life. Holden (8) told me one day in the car last week: I may have to convince my future wife to unschool.
Seeing this photo of my boys reminds me how far we have come. Yesterday was a day of sadness for me. Camden actually had another tooth pulled yesterday. I have had so many moments of guilt over his teeth. But he seems happy and is the one who was ready to let go of another dead tooth. He deals with things so much better than I do. He had a fall when he was two and many over the course of learning to walk from 9 months to a year. I wish I could have saved his teeth, but at least they were baby teeth.
I love where we are at right now in our lives. Everything seems so much easier than it did a few years ago. I am truly grateful for everything. We are really seeing the fruits of our labors in our two beautiful, smart boys whom I hope will always feel confident, strong, and know themselves and trust their own judgment. They give back more love to the world, me and their father than I could have ever dreamed.Every day is priceless and precious.
