The ratgirls cage is finally complete

They were living in a medium sized dog kennel half the day. The other half they made nests all around our basement. They loved it! But we knew it was temporary and over all they were very well mannered rats. Brownie (old one) did no harm. Goldie was a little naughty, if she were a human. But for a rat she is awesome!

Holden was a big help to Cliff when putting the cage together. It took about 3 hours total, not including the time I spent picking up materials.

I took some close-ups of the door to show the locking hooks we made with clothes hangers. It worked way better than the snap clips we bought. We anchored the base with wires. We hope to fix it so we can take the top off the base for cleaning.

The photos of the girls were taken on Beggars Night (30th). I was sharing my baked pumpkin seeds with them. They were so cute shoving them between their teeth and waddling off to hoard them. Then they'd run back as rattenly possible to get more.














Now I am going to go say good morning to them!
