72 is a good number!

It was 72 degrees tonight when we arrived at my sister, Heidi's in Texas. And since I was born in 1972 I had to smile about that. It was not a terrible trip, but two days of about 8 hours on the road seems like forever to our boys (and to mommy and daddy too). And hotel rates went up! Yikes! But we are happy to be here and the long drive was worth it. At least gas prices were not $4 a gallon. It was mostly about $1.50 to 1.65 a gallon.

I will be posting photos as I take them! Hope all our cold climate friends and family are keeping warm!!!

Peace to all...

Heather, right now it's 3 degrees with a wind chill well below zero! Tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same... it's so windy that we are hearing whistling through the cracks in the house!
Enjoy your warmth and think of us here in Iowa... freezing our buns off!!

We knew nasty weather was coming so it motivated us to get going. We weren't in a big hurry, but if we had any car trouble we didn't want to take any chances. Sorry I can't wrap up some Texas warmth for everyone, including myself when we leave!
