What's new?

Hola friends! Thanks for stopping by. We've been up to a lot here. The ducks have been coming by all week for breakfast and dinner. They laze around our yard and fly off when they want to. It is a win/win situation! We have ducks that we don't need a cage for and they don't make a mess.

Cliff and I went on a small date yesterday. It was a spur of the moment decision Cliff sprang on me. We are lucky to have friends we trust who we can call on when we need help watching the kids. We had fun walking around building supply stores. We are dreaming about the kitchen and bathroom renovation we are planning in the future. Beforehand we went to a restaurant and had fun chatting away about our life visions and life happenings. On our way home we stopped at a pet store to buy the boys each a Beta fish. They each had one in December, but they died when we went to Texas for Christmas. They were so thrilled! Holden has been wanting a kitten or a bird again. Hopefully this will tide him over, until those things happen.

We went to our neighborhood pool today (first time this year) with friends and had a blast. Cliff went to run errands instead since he can't enjoy swimming, water slide, etc. right now. He found we have a small problem with our van while he was out and about. He can't use both arms so he is hoping a neighbor will help him. It is not a huge part that needs to be changed, and it was inexpensive.

After coming home from the pool the boys had friends come over. They went from the backyard to inside, on and off. They have all been on a Club Penguin kick (on-line game), as well as playing dog catcher outside with a net. At night they come in and play Legos. It is so fun to watch them interact. When Holden and I were playing Club Penguin together yesterday I was able to see some new things he has learned on his own.

Also, I found out today that an unschooling friend is moving out of state this week and I almost cried. She was one of the first homeschooling people I met when I was thinking of homeschooling Holden. He was 1 at the time. I have always been so impressed with her and her kids. A.K., if you're out there, I will miss you!

I'm getting rather spoiled having Cliff home full-time. And I LOVE IT! It's just too bad his shoulder is in constant pain still. But every day gets a little better. He has PT twice a week that he walks to and from. He helps as much as he can around the house, and he is a really cool dad.

A side note--We made pizza dough in the bread maker the other day and it was to die for! I am not sure what I did differently, but it came out way better than last time. So thanks for the recipe, Vicki! I want to eat pizza every day now! But we can't. Well, the kids could. LOL.

Other than all that there is always a lot I am so grateful for. Holden tells me at least 3 times a day that he loves me. If I hurt his feelings, he tells me, and we hug. When Holden is going to a friend's house he always tells me where he is going, and that he loves me--and to let dad know he loves him, too, if he is not right there. He makes my heart melt. He is such a good sales boys too. He has me sold on many things. I don't have all night to write about it. I wish I did. I have two books calling my name and it is stormy here. I don't want to loose this post due to a power surge.

Lots of love,
Heather and family XOXOX

I'm glad you liked it! If you want the recipe for the small and medium size just let me know.

Glad you guys are having such a good summer, and that Cliff gets to be home. Joey's only working about three days a week here, so it's almost like he's not working. We love it. :)
