Father's Day thoughts

I'm entirely grateful for my husband and other fathers who strive to be like this:

A FATHER MEANS...

A Father means so many things...
An understanding heart,
A source of strength and of support
Right from the very start.
A constant readiness to help
In a kind and thoughtful way.
With encouragement and forgiveness
No matter what comes your way.
A special generosity and always affection, too
A Father means so many things
When he's a man like you...

The above poem (I don't know the author) describes to a T the type of father every child needs and wishes for. If you are parenting in a way that feels hard and harder than it should, it is probably b/c it is not the way nature intended. For more ideas on how to be a loving father or parent check out Scott Noelle's website and subscribe to The Daily Groove.

A loving father is not someone who squashes your joy for life. A loving father is not someone who sets rules and boundaries that limit your limitlessness. a loving father is not someone who spanks and yells constantly to instill fear to make his presence known. And a loving father is not someone who gives you something to cry about or wants you to fear him.

A loving father is someone who wants you to be the best you that you can be. And that someone may not be anything like him. I'm grateful to the many loving dads and moms I have met over the past 6 years. I appreciate all they do for their kids and to model how good it can be.

I love you, Cliff! Thanks for all you do! I'm off to finish a special meal for the family today.

Much love to all...
Heather XOXXO
