I'm thankful for so many things this week! These are pics of the boys in a laundry basket. They were goofing around before bed and I had to take a photo. I haven't been taking many photos of our days. We've had some really awesome days over the past week, too. I have been trying to enjoy the moment and just relax. Photos never really capture the essence of our life so well.
We had some nice weather, so we went out a lot as usual. We have been on the hunt several times for a micro-geocache near our house that is very hard to find (A 5, 5 being the hardest). We even went at night once with a flashlight. It was fun! We saw other people out in the park we were at and they were all happy to be about as well.
Saturday was so gorgeous outdoors! I did everything humanly possible to be outside in it! Then Sunday was dreary so we did a lot of inside stuff. Late Sunday afternoon we went to the Science Center with some friends. We had a marvelous time. On the way home we all stopped at Gray's Lake Park to walk the bridge. It was dark, but people are always there enjoying the paved trail around the lake. The kids we had with us went nuts over the colored lights on the bridge. That was fun, and even better were the dozens of bicyclist with blinking holiday lights and music on their bikes who passed us on the pedestrian bridge.
I've made it a priority to go to the YMCA every few days. My boys have enjoyed the extra exercise they get when they go. I don't want to get depressed during this dark time of year. And I don't want to gain weight either. I really miss the longer days. However, we are finding so many other interesting indoor things and outdoor stuff as well, that all feels happy.
We have much to be grateful for!! For instance Holden and his friends are still enamored with the Super Smash Bros. Gamecube game we bought in October. They keep unlocking new characters and finding new parts of the game. I love hearing them play and seeing how happy they are together. They don't play non-stop. They take breaks and go outside when it is nice, or run around the house, or build Lego ships.
I'm grateful for our life and excited about the future!!! Cliff is saving money for a family vacation for us when he gets back. I am hopeful we can have some much needed family time at home and away.
We're supposed to get some rain and snow here over the next 36 hours. It may be a white Thanksgiving! I can't believe it! Holden is very excited.
Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends out there. Sending much love to all of you.
