Found our first cache
We found our first geocache today!!! It was such a thrill!!! It was a plastic micro cache tube the size of my index finger. It was wrapped in camouflage tape. The log slips were about 1" by 11" and rolled up like a small roll of white toilet paper for Barbie. I was so mad that I didn't have my camera!! It was hidden in a tree. It was a Boy Scout cadet who hid it there and logged it's coordinates on the geocaching.com website.
This was a cache we had been looking for on and off since Tuesday. Life is so sweet!! Now if we can find the first cache we looked for on Tuesday, Wednesday, and today. Thankfully these locations are within 2 miles of our house, and there are many more around here to find. I can't wait to find some in Texas next time we visit. They have tons of cool ones!!!

Congratulations!
How awesome for you all! We have a lot of kids at some of our geo-breakfasts if you can make it sometime. you can visit iowageocachers.org for local stuff at the forum --
Thanks all! I didn't know about the IGO website. That is very neat. I bookmarked it. I can see how geocaching can be addictive. I love being outside, and it is different than just hanging out at a park with the kids. It feels exciting and new. Like falling in love!! Plus we get exercise...something we love this time of year when it is easy for me to get sedentary again.
