We feel like screaming here at the moment. Of course we feel so grateful for so many things too. We have so enjoyed having Cliff home from the Middle East the past week. He has been able to see his mom progress the past few days. The only thing is that her left lung had some dark spots and hasn't been responding to treatment. They took a biopsy a few days ago. Today we found out the results: cancer. We are feeling very gloomy and it is a gloomy day here. She is still very frail and weak. Cancer treatments are probably out of the question. Removing a lung is risky too. She has been the Iowa City route with cancer before when she was younger and stronger (15 or so years ago).
Not sure what to expect at this point. Just thought we'd give an update to anyone who is following along. Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement we have been receiving.
