We went from the 80s to the 60s this week for highs. We have had warm days lately and it has been awesome! We bundled up in jackets today to walk to the lake for some duck feeding comedy. It was nice to be outside in the fresh air. I had just finished doing a much needed vacuuming around the house and the air quality was poor and I was hot!
So, now I am sitting here at the computer with the windows open listening to rain outside. The kids are also chilling out. I'm thinking about some events that have happened over the past week and over the weekend. We've had some grouchy neighbor kids and parents since school has started. My kids are taking a break from some of them. I have been on the grouchy side myself since I was sick last week and stressed out this past weekend about Cliff's mom.
Cliff is trying to figure out if he can and/or should come home for awhile. His mom is in need of someone to take over as her power of attorney until or if she is able to do it again. Cliff's younger sister is not sure she can handle all the stress of it with only her other brother here to help. Cliff is the older, wiser, smarter brother--her words. Cliff's mom, according to her doctor, has given up the will to live. She refuses to eat/drink and is now restrained to a hospital bed with a nasal feeding tube. She wants to die. We don't know if she will pull through or if this is "it." She has been in very bad health on and off for 15 years. She lost her husband last Dec. and her oldest brother about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Her mother fell and broke her hip in May and is now in an assisted living situation. Plus Cliff is off in a war! What else can a person have to deal with?
Well, my chilling out moment is over. Later friends.
