Too good to last

It has been a nice week here. Today we all went to the local library and saw a king snake (milk snake), a ferret, and a small alligator. The kids got to touch each one and hear about them from a zoo keeper. Later Cliff and Holden went to see a movie. Then this evening the kids each got a tiny bullhead fish today from our neighborhood pond that was being drained. It was quite an event. Cliff had fun with the boys. It was interesting to see all that was pulled out of the mud by kids and adults to be rescued or eaten.

Yesterday we splurged and went to a large aquatic center. It was very crowded but once a few bus loads of kids left it was more fun. Cliff and I even went on a few water slides together on an inner tube. It was like old times. Camden did not warm up to the place until about an hour or two into our visit. He rested on my chest a few times while I sat in a lounge chair. He was a bit tired although he napped in the car on the way.

Today (with the help of a referral) I found a teen boy to mow our grass while I am visiting family this summer. He used to mow our grass 7 years ago with his dad when we lived down the street closer to his house. I have a lot of little things like this to do until we all leave. It is so hard to think about how different our lives will be in a few days. And once Cliff leaves for Gulfport for training before Iraq, I won't even want to be here.

Yes, this week has truly been so awesome!! Too bad it will end soon. It will give us something to look forward to when he gets back. We want to take a family trip. And Cliff even asked me if I want to go back to work for awhile when he gets back. He wants to be home with the kids for awhile and adjust back to civilian life. It will be an interesting few years here to say the least. I can't say I am opposed to going back to work for a year or so. At least I have a year to find something I will like doing.

I am off to bed. Another busy day ahead of us! Cliff is out with his brother tonight and we are going out tomorrow night for one last party for him. I need my beauty sleep.
