Cara, a friend of mine on the web, has asked if she can pass Isaac's Rock onto my family. Here is a little about Isaac's Rock:
Isaac's Rock is an attempt to help carry the burden of the Lehr Family as their Father goes through cancer treatment.
As a result of the illness, Isaac is unable to work, the Family has moved from their house to a trailer to decrease expenses, they have sold most of their belongings, and they intend to live their life to the fullest right now ~ together full time as a Family. The struggle that they are going through can not be known to most of us. Their strength entering into this battle is truly inspirational.
With all the cancer foundations out there, they have found little day to day support for going through this. Isaac's Rock is intended to help them carry their burden by raising awareness and funds through carrying and passing this rock around with Families willing to help. It takes a village.
I had heard about Isaac Lehr and read about his stage four (four being deadliest) cancer. Through other friends' blogs I read about attempts to help this family in need. Isaac is my age and I couldn't imagine having this happen to me or my family. We would be devastated financially and I am so honored to be asked to help carry the burden of this family. I'll be checking with families local to me to see if they would like to help carry the burden. I will be looking for ways to raise a little money for them as well. The other families who have been helping the Lehrs are all unschoolers or homeschoolers.Anyone out there who would like to help financially can go here.
If you are local to me (Iowa) and would like to take the rock next and help raise awareness for this family in need, please comment to this post. Thanks so much for reading this far and for whatever help you can contribute even if it is just a quick hello or get well vibes.

A side note: Diana in South Dakota is interested in taking the rock next. This is very exciting news for people out there since cancer has hit her family. She knows how hard it is to work and go thru this ordeal and lose people she loves. Thanks, Diana!
