Howdy Y'all
I couldn't imagine if I were at work and the kids had to go to school or preschool and we had to miss out on spur of the moment days like yesterday. We spent the afternoon in the country with a friend and her two boys. It was a perfect spring day and we all had fun! Hopefully we'll have many more fun days like that.
All the boys rode on Sassy. She is a gentle and sweet horse. Holden rode with the saddle first and then bareback later. He is a natural horseman. Our friend has 3 horses and they are very friendly. After the boys rode Sassy we went down to the pond on the property and went fishing. All three horses came up to say hi and begged for the green apple slices we had. I was on a blanket on the ground when Sassy, Howdy, and Red got right in all our faces for a friendly, "howdy y'all."
Cliff and our friend caught and released several fish. It was a fun day. Afterward we grilled hamburgers with our friends, went home very tired about 9pm, and fell asleep shortly after. At least the kids and I did. Cliff burned the midnight oil and is paying for it today. But, hey, if I weren't so tired I would have as well.
I just made and ate some chicken 'n dumplings and I am going to curl up with lil' guys for a rainy day siesta. I am still tired from a busy few days here. Bye y'all!
