Oh what a thrill!

So I didn't win first place and the cash prize, but I finished the 5k walk in under an hour (see my number?). It was nice to get that accomplished. And 3.1 miles (5K) is not as hard as I thought it would be. I did it on about 4 or 5 hours of sleep too! Cliff was supposed to fly in last night from his trip to California for the Navy Reserves at 10:30--and 10:30 turned into midnight because of delays. By the time we got home and I settled down to sleep it was quite late. I didn't know if I was going to be up to it this morning, but Cliff was like my cheerleader and pushed me. I was a little cranky, but afterward I was glad I did it. He knew I had been looking forward to it and did not want to back out. Holden did the kid fun run afterward and then we went home. But the coolest thing was Katie Routh (Brandon Routh's mom--Superman) singing the National Anthem at the event and a chiropractor there to give adjustments after the event. The chiropractor had his table and all and I only had to wait about 5 minutes to get adjusted. It was a perfectly breezy and beautiful morning to be outside with people from my community cheering me on. I saw several people I know along the way...even one of our sitters and a neighbor we really enjoy, but don't see often. Wish I would have thought to bring the camera so Cliff could get a snapshot of me going thru the really cool and huge inflatable finish line doorway and Holden in the fun run. Duh!

Holden and Cliff went to see Spiderman 3 and Camden and I are going to take a snooze. Cliff and I have friends coming over for dinner. It should be a nice weekend!! Well I am off and ready to relax for a few hours with my eyes shut. I'm feeling like such a slacker, but oh well!! At least I feel like I earned some rest.

Peace and smiles to all!! And happy Mother's Day too!!!!! We'll probably go see Cliff's mom and grandmother tomorrow. As most of you know my mom passed away 2 years ago.

Congratulations Heather! What a great accomplishment! Happy Mothers Day to you! I'm sorry about your mother, I know the feeling. Mothers Day has a way of stirring the grief back up to the surface too.

Heather, you inspire me. Now that I see that a 5k is only 3.1 miles, heck, I can see me completing a walk/run! That is cool. I only know marathoners.

Any new thoughts on trading?
