Highs and lows
This weekend had some really awesome high points. Cliff offered to take me out again this weekend. So on Saturday morning I went out to buy my self something to wear. I took the kids and on such short notice and on borrowed time, I bought a spandex pant and jacket outfit at Target. I figured I can wear it to work out in or go out dancing in. I splurged and bought some jewelry to go with it. The jewelry was not very expensive and it was so cool to splurge. Holden seemed baffled. I NEVER buy myself anything (well nearly never)!! He about fell over when he saw I was buying myself jewelry. The neighbor girl was available to sit for us and this time no one even dared looking for matches. LOL. She was mortified about the incident from last time and her mom found out and scolded/lectured her. She explained the whole situation to me before we left to go out.
So, Cliff and I went out and didn't get home until a little past 2 a.m. SHOCK!!!! We had the very best time laughing and talking and cutting lose together. We came home and I don't think we got more than two hours of sleep before he had to get up at 6 a.m. Camden was awake when we got home, but Holden was asleep. Camden wasn't sure what to make of mommy and daddy going out--but he did well. If all goes well this (dates) may be a weekly or every other week thing until he goes to Iraq in June or July.
Another high was spending this afternoon outside in the sunshine!! I was revived from the sleepless night after a two hour nap with Camden. The kids and I went to the lake and played and met some new friends. We also fed some ducks and enjoyed the pelicans that are still hanging around the lake. It was such a nice day. The new friends we made were really sweet. We may never see them again, but it was still fun talking and playing with them.
Cliff came home from the Navy Reserves and we ate dinner, then went on a walk to the lake and we fed the ducks with him. The low point of the weekend was saying goodbye to him. He really didn't want to leave and we didn't want him to either. He will not be getting laid off from his current job out of state either, as we had hoped. However, he is hoping we can figure out a way for him to stay home come mid May, even without unemployment. He will be in California the first two weeks of May. After that we are not sure what the plan is. He should have his official Iraq orders by mid May. Then we will know when and if he is leaving for sure.
I was given one more gift or high point of many this weekend: The kids were very tired and so was I by the time Cliff left to drive to Nebraska tonight. I had a Netflix movie to watch and I begged the kids to play quietly so I could watch it without the normal chaos of them fighting or making the normal kid disasters. LOL. You moms know exactly what I mean!! So for the first time EVER they let me watch a two hour movie and played in the same room I was in and sat mostly quietly with me. We had a snack and cuddled too. It was totally wonderful to have them do this for me. They usually hog the TV with their cartoons and I usually rent mostly movies for them. It was nice for them to be so giving in return. Ask and you shall receive!
Well I am too tired now to proof read this. Please forgive the errors as usual. I attached a pic I took of myself after I tried on my new outfit. This is not what I looked like when I went out. I showered, combed my mane and wore make up. The photo of the birds: We went back later in the day to see the pelicans and I brought my camera. I had to zoom way in. They are quite far away from shore. They are definitely not tame birds!

Awesome Heather! It sounds like you are spending more time with yourself, lol! It's good to treat yourself special because if you don't, you don't have much to give to others. And the marriage being important enough to really feed it and it sounds like you had a wonderful time!
We keep getting sick here though. I dont know if we are just unlucky and getting germs from places or if we are doing too much and run down (maybe a little of all). The weather was so crappy too that lots of people had sicky bugs to pass on. Plus too much sugar at Easter time?? Not sure. Glad we inspired you Chris! Life is feeling exciting though.
You look great Heather! We've been sick more than usual around here lately too. I don't feel that we are unhealthy or rundown people just getting around some nasty bugs with activities I think!
Hope the sickness goes away fast!
I love reading your blog, Heather! You're writing is so real, I just love it! And, what a gift you are giving your children and your husband by taking such good care of YOU! You rock, hot mama!
