The sun is out

It was an emotional weekend here. But all is well now--I will skip all the negatives. Our basement is almost ready to paint. Our helper finished the mudding and sanding and got it almost all primed. It is looking awesome!

Our cat, Pebbles, is perched up high here--basking in the sunlight in this photo. We had a terrible few days here with high winds and blizzard conditions. But now the snow is melting. It is not going to be as warm as was predicted last week. But I can't complain! We'll take weather in the 30s. Today I got outside to run errands with the kids and this afternoon we went on a little walk/bike ride. It was chillier than I would have liked this afternoon with the breeze, but it was so nice to be outside. We lasted at least 20 minutes before we were ready to go in. Holden played outside a lot today and Camden threw mud on the back of the house for a short bit. We even had a chance to swing in the backyard this morning before the breeze kicked in this afternoon.

I'm feeling excited about the progress we are making toward getting the house ready to sell. But I am also feeling a little sad about some things. Cliff will be going to California for 2 weeks in April for Navy training; and he will be working two weekends a month for the Navy Reserves now until he leaves for Iraq in July. The good news is he is almost positive his boss is going to lay him off in April or May, so he can collect unemployment until he leaves in July. This will be a huge benefit to us! I am keeping my fingers crossed. The closer July gets, the more emotional I feel inside at times. The kids miss him so much already and I don't know how I will explain to Camden why his dad is gone for so long. He is too young to understand.

I am trying to focus on good times yet to come and the sunnier days ahead. And YES I hope this month exits like a lamb! Just having longer days has been such a gift to already...

Sending sun rays your way to where ever you are friends!

(Snow photos: calm after the storm: windblown snow on the trellis; newly fallen snow in our backyard.)
