Camden's Officially Two!!
We didn't get sick of giving Camden special treatment today! This morning I sang Happy Birthday to him as he woke up. Cliff sang Camden Happy Birthday several times today as well. It was nice to have Cliff around this week to celebrate Camden's day. Actually, I think we've been celebrating it all week. I baked the cake this morning and Cliff frosted it. Cliff, Holden, a friend--Alex, and I, sang Happy Birthday for the last time today and Camden blew out his candles. Soon after the 3 boys and I went to park day to meet up with friends. We brought some of the birthday cake with us and it was fun to see some of the kids enjoying it in between playing. By the time we made it home the boys were very tired and dirty! To end the day's festivities we ate a special dinner I started in the crock pot and Cliff had finished when we arrived home.
All in all it was a nice day, but not blown out of proportion. We didn't buy him any presents, but we figure a happy childhood is the best gift of all! Plus we buy him little gifts all the time. Gift giving isn't saved for holidays or birthdays. Plus we practice special acts of kindness daily. We try not to put a big emphasis on material things. Especially since we are slowly weeding out many of our material possessions these days to travel/live full-time in a bus.
Happy days and happy kids!! And I'm a happy mommy today! There's nothing better than having so much love from these two little guys and their daddy...
