Last stop: Colorado--Part 2

As if going to Montana, Washington, and Yellowstone weren't enough, we met these really cool as heck people at the LIFE is Good Conference in Washington. We talked about stopping by their place to say hi when we were in Colorado. Never did we dream they would be one of the coolest families EVER!!!! So we stayed a week, despite our four year-olds going at it about toys A LOT. It was still AWESOME. Brad used to race motorcycles before becoming a dad. He thought it would be cool to give some kid-friendly rides around their huge backyard. Holden has dreams of owning a dirt bike soon, so that was especially cool for him. We fell in love with these people!!! They were so amazing and kind to us. They spoiled us rotten, too.

On Sunday, we went to visit Laura Miller and family at Nyland, it was just a five minute drive away from the Holcombs'. We took their son John John (4) with us to Nyland (he had been before). Laura and her husband have lived there for a year. They used to travel full time in an RV with their 3 kids. Nyland is a well known co-housing community near Boulder. Laura was doing yard work the afternoon we came, so she was not dressed as trendy as usual. But she looked adorable in her cowgirl hat! She gave us tour of the Nyland community. It is expensive to live there, but a really neat concept. She showed us the community chickens, goats, gardens, wood shop (people were in there working when we went), play ground, fields, creek/ditch, community center, gym, community kitchen, mailboxes, and much more. She and her husband own a townhouse looking place that has an apartment downstairs that they rent out. She had a housefull of kids when we got there. Her daughter was getting ready to go to a water birthday party at Nyland. We passed the party on the tour she gave us. On the way back to her place she showed us her kitchen garden, medicinal garden, and fruit trees in her yard. Her hubby was in New York, but we got to hang out with them both on Friday night when we went on the triple date. Cool people!!! Laura gave us some wonderful insights into how they traveled full-time and the cost of RVs now. Traveling full-time is still one of our dreams.

You won't believe some of the other adventures this vacation led us to. It involves my mother's traveling ashes and my place of conception--which I had always wanted to see.

More to come!

Peace and love,
Heather
