Fishing, rodeo, pony rides, and ranch

We are getting the full Montana experience and we have the photos to prove it. We are all wore out from a late night at a rodeo last night near Kalispell, MT--which is very near Glacier National Park (AWESOME). We got in about 12:30am last night. We are resting up for a small town celebration tomorrow in Plains, MT (western MT). We had a lot of fun at Darin's sisters yesterday. She has four kids and lives on a 10,000 acre ranch she and her cowboy husband manage. Her husband won some money last night at the rodeo. He is soft spoken and a really nice dad. The kids loved the trampoline, tire swing, tree house, and chickens. We'll see them again tomorrow at the Plain's Day celebration.

Tammy knew our boys loved horses and heard they were trying to corral some on Wednesday to ride. So she made sure they got to ride a pony at her ranch. She let Holden lead the horse when her kids wanted to ride again. It was a warm and dusty day on the ranch, but a lot of fun!

On Wednesday I met the guys and Darin at a remote fishing spot. By remote I mean it was down a very steep and rocky embankment and down a long trail and not sandals terrain. LOL. But it was sure lovely and worth the time I spent walking down the rocks and trail in my flimsy Crocs.

Everywhere we go there are rivers, lakes and mountains around this part of Montana. And they are so clean and beautiful. You just can't imagine how peaceful it is here and gorgeous it is in person. We are planning on heading south on Monday, although the weather forecast is not looking good for Yellowstone. I guess we can't have perfect weather everyday! We'll have to just rough it and make the most of the rainy moments.

If I don't get a chance to blog on Sunday or Monday it will be awhile before I can get to it as internet will not be available in Yellowstone, and we will be there as long as we can stand the cold nights in our tent.

Love and hugs to all. We're feeling so grateful for all.

Sounds like you guys are having a great time! We have some friends in Kalispell who also own a house on Flathead Lake. We got to play with waverunners on the lake and four-wheelers out on the logging trails. Great memories! Love all the updates!
