The sweetest memories of late

Well, I am not sure how much time I have, but here we go. I have been so focused on so many other things going on in my life that I haven't had a lot of time to blog. We have been passing around a flu bug, but life doesn't stop, and neither does our fascination of all life's wonders.

Many things are changing and some things are still the same. Holden and Camden still love bugs, birds, snakes, their bikes, and many other things. We were able to obtain a permanent library card for the area of Texas we are visiting. I am in love with the selection of books they have to offer. When the weather is nice we sit outside and have picnics in my sister's backyard. Sometimes Holden and I will read a book while we're outside. Camden is usually in constant motion. We try to have our binoculars handy in case we see a bird fly overhead and we want a better look.

Lately, I have been doing some research on places to visit when Cliff gets here and we go on our family vacation. So far it looks like we'll be heading some place near the Gulf of Mexico. I have been trying to read books to Holden about the ocean or wild life near the ocean. We are getting very excited about our family vacation.

Another thing I am excited about is RealArcade on-line games. We have been IN LOVE with the I Spy book series this past year. It is something I enjoy reading to my boys and they love as well. It is rather addicting! I somehow stumbled onto the on-line game series. It is awesome! Both boys love it, even their 10 year old cousin loves it. It is different in the book because once you solve a set of I Spy riddles you earn clues to solve a mystery or goal. In the I Spy Fantasy on-line game there are three areas to solve riddles: medieval times, underwater, and space. In the medieval times there are a set of keys to earn to help a princess escape the dungeon. In the space portion you collect crystals to help a rocket take flight. There's more to it and each area there are three levels. My favorite I Spy so far has been I Spy Spooky Mansion. Next we are going to try I Spy Treasure Hunt on-line. I had to pay a fee to download the games but I thought it was well worth it. We did the one hour demo and fell in love! Both boys are having a lot of fun and learning a lot with the riddles.

Everyday the boys play with neighbors or their cousin. They are both very social and active little people. We watch movies, satellite T.V., and Holden plays Nintendo games. Yesterday I rented Hairspray, and Holden watched it with me. I had no idea it was going to be so full of interesting history about life in the 60s, like segregation. It was a very intriguing portrayal of what it was like for African Americans at that time and the struggles some Caucasians had with not being allowed to associate with African Americans. Holden asked a lot of questions and we laughed at some of the funny situations in the movie.

Both boys still want a four-wheeler. Holden is saving up for one. Camden wants an airplane for his birthday (a real one to fly in). Holden now wants a snow mobiler and also a snow board. I feel so lucky because they are so smart, healthy, well coordinated, and physically able. They have both stolen my heart and I feel so grateful to be their mom. I tell them both that anything is possible in life, and I know they will go far. They have an inner fire that burns brighter than any sun, and they are so full of motivation. Their father and I are so thrilled with all the joy they bring to our life, and can't see living our life any other way than the way we do. We are grateful we are not too afraid to trust all will be well and it is. Both boys are happy and eager to greet each day and all it has to offer. There are no fights about when we will wake up, what they will wear, or when we we will eat or where. Can life get any sweeter?

All is well--other than the minor illnesses, normal life irritations, limitations, and feeling like Cliff will never get back to America soon enough. Life is sweet.
Sending out sweet wishes of joy and love to all...
