We are still in Texas with family. It is beyond weird for the me to have such lovely weather in January since we are used to highs in the 30s, not the 60s and 70s. I am not complaining!
We decided to venture to see our horse friend again this week--our first time since seeing the coral snake. I am deathly afraid of snakes, although I would never kill one. I believe they are part of an important eco-system. I also don't care for mice and snakes eat them--so do hawks. I like hawks! On the way to see the horse we saw a coral snake again. Then later in the day our coral snake was murdered. We aren't sure who did it. It was found covered in blood. I was sad about that.
We saw our first bald eagle the other day. We were at a lakeside park playing in the dirt when it flew over head. What an awesome creature!
We've been staying busy! Both boys have been playing with new toy airplanes and an air rocket. We have also been doing experiments with balloons. Besides that we have time with each other, friends, and family. This coming weekend we'll be going out of town with my sister. It should be a fun weekend.
The most exciting thing I have to mention is that Cliff will be headed home in March. He has to go back to Gulfport, MS first and then home to Iowa. I am doing some research on vacation rentals for us when he gets back. I'm going to ask family and friends if they have any suggestions in the Texas area so we can go swimming and be outdoors. I have looked on-line and so far nothing is in our price range. I am hopeful though! The hardest part is that I don't know the exact dates he will be back and when I do get exact dates, it is subject to change. But either way we are very thrilled! We miss him very, very much!
I do have some sad news I just found out about a few days ago. Isaac (remember Isaac's Rock?) passed away on Tuesday the 8th. He had three children, I believe, and a wife. He will be very missed. He tried very hard to find a cure for his cancer and he fought for his life. I was so sorry to learn of his passing.
Much peace and love to all...
