It started

Cliff's car did start the other day after being connected to a charger. The hood was really rusty, but I greased up the mechanism thru the grill and had a neighbor push on the hood while I pulled on the hood release inside the car. Should be o.k. now as long as I use the car a few times a week and pop the hood once every few weeks.

The kids and I are staying quite busy. I have a lot going on, but I am not complaining. Cliff is being deployed this week and there are moments I worry my heart will stop. I like to stay busy to keep my mind off missing him. And the kids miss him too. We have been talking to him on a web camera today and using the computer to talk. Once he gets to where he is going I know we won't get to talk every day as we do now. It will be tough on us. But we will hang in here! I am going to a support meeting on Sat. to meet other families who have loved ones in Cliff's unit. I hope it will be helpful to talk to other families who are going thru what I am going thru.

Cliff had an uncle pass away the other day. The kids and I will be attending the funeral on Cliff's behalf. I am not sure when it is and I hope it is not on Saturday. But if it is, oh well. I will make it work.

So the real work for me has started (home w/o hubby) and I am glad Cliff's car started! The tough part of Cliff's work will start soon as well. Poor guy! He was loaded up with small pox shots this week and he has a nasty cold/allergies/sinus infection. He is looking tired this week and has a long flight ahead of him soon.

We had a great day yesterday (Labor Day). We went to the Happy Apple Orchard and went on two different bike adventures. Once in the morning and once in the evening--a total of 6 or 7 miles. It was awesome! We spent most of the weekend at home. The kids hung out with friends a lot.

Off to bed I go...sweet dreams to me and anyone else out there reading this before bed!
