The traveling ashes
A side note about our trip. My mom, Barbara (52) passed away the day after Thanksgiving in 2004. She had a stroke. We have been undecided about what to do with her ashes. My aunt (her sister) had her ashes in her car for about a year. Then I took them and put them in my sister's garage. Then last time I was here in this past spring I took them to Iowa. So my mom came back to Texas with us! On the way here I decided since my mom loved to travel in her youth and wasn't able to travel much once she had kids, this is perfect! She loved spending time in Arkansas with family when she was a kid and we'll be passing through there on our way back to Iowa in August. My aunt and I laugh about this and it somehow seems fitting for now! The reason she has been only in cars and garages is because some of us are superstitious about spirits and ghosts.
