Wife Swap

I wasn't going to post this but it may be amusing to some of you out there. Second email from Wife Swap:

Hey Heather!
I'd love to consider you now or in the future. We always look for interesting families with strong philosophies and it definitely sounds like you have a strong take on life and how you want to raise your kids.
Let me know if you'd live to consider this in the near future!
All families receive a $20,000 honorarium for participating on our show.
Thanks,
Rachelle

First email:

Hey Heather!
My name is Rachelle and I'm one of the casting producers with ABC TV's Wife Swap. I'm on a mission to get in contact with families who are living lightly and came across your contact info (in around about way) via MY SPACE. I'm getting in touch with families on the road!
We always look for families with very strong family philosophies, and wanted to get in touch with your family in hopes that you might consider applying for our show. I deeply admire that you've taken your family on the road, and this is the reason I wanted to take a chance and contact you about the show. I apologies if this is a repeat request from another co-worker-this is truly a lifestyle that we would love the chance to feature.
Our show is in its 3rd season and the premise of Wife Swap is that one parent from each household swaps places for a week to experience how another family lives. It is an incredible family opportunity to both learn and teach different family values. I feel that your family, no doubt, has a lot to teach most families!
if this sounds of interest in any way, please contact me.
Happy Trails!
Rachelle

My response to the first email:

Dear Rachelle~
Thanks so much for your interest in our family. We are not actually on the road yet. Maybe we would consider this at a later date. Thanks a bunch!! Good luck and I hope you find the perfect family for the show.

~Heather

Anyone out there who needs $20,000 and has no shame should contact Wife Swap! Although I was flattered to be contacted, I could not seriously consider it until my kids are much older.

Agh! Don't do it! At least not until your kids are way old enough to understand what they're in for and have a say in the decision. I've watched these shows. They intentionally match polar opposite families and it is the kids who suffer the most!

Not that you asked my opinion. <8-o

I agree don't do it!! I caught part of an episode one night as I was channel surfing...I heard "homeschooling" so I had to watch...the wife that got swapped with the homeschoolers hired a tutor and made the poor kids get a schedule & sit in desks...the show was horrible and I couldn't finish watching it.

Thanks for the concern. I have seen a few of the shows and I know what you mean. By the time my kids are old enough to consider, in more than 10 years, the show will be off the air. I just thought it was funny they wanted us to be on the show.
