Holden has been doing some interesting experiments with a flashlight he got for his birthday. One experiment involved a CD. He was able to reflect a small rainbow onto the ceiling in a dark room using a flashlight and a CD. We found that CDs are quite transparent as well.
It's been a good week to stay inside and do these sorts of things. It's been gray and drizzly here. Tonight we're going to venture out to see some live reindeers at our library.
On another note, Cliff's mom went into the hospital early Monday morning and I have not felt like myself this week. I am trying to find my groove still. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with my new pregnant state. But my mantra lately is, "this too shall pass." Once my mothering hormones kick in again they will be my saving grace. As far as Cliff's mom I'm not sure her groove will ever be the same. Losing a mate of over 30 years knocks the wind out of a person. If I had to walk in her shoes for a day I'm sure my groove would not feel so offbeat.
A gross potty story for anyone out there needing a laugh: The past few days I have noticed a urine smell in my room. I removed some towels I thought maybe the cat urinated on. The smell was still there. So today I looked in the closet and there was a potty chair with pee in it. It was brown pee. Obviously been there awhile. For a pregnant person with smell issues it was enough to make me gag. We'll leave it at that. Luckily I didn't go bananas on the little boys who did this yucky joke on me. I hope this story made ya laugh. Gross stuff here at our house.

You have such clever kids, Heather!
I'm sorry about Cliff's mom. I hope she'll be okay. I've heard of spouses going downhill quickly after losing a life-long partner.
I hope that Cliff returns home soon and you start feeling better soon too! Take care.
ewwww....When my boys were really little (4 & 2) and shared the same room...one of them peed in a dresser drawer...It took me days before I figured out the pee smell was NOT coming from the bed, the carpet, any clothes on the floor...
Hope you get feeling good soon! Congratulations!!! :)
