Hitch 50 Makes it to Iowa!

Who's this Senator on the far left??? When we first got there they were talking to this senator and he didn't introduce himself. But he wanted to bring in a group of international students to meet Scotty and Fiddy. The senator left the room and we never saw him again because we ended up moving to another location inside the building. He must have thought Hitch 50 had a lot of spare time. They were itching to get on with the adventure. The guy with the arm wrap is Andy from Illinois. He's driving Scotty and Fiddy to Nebraska tonight and maybe to Colorado tomorrow. He was super sweet and said they are a lot of fun! I wasn't surprised.

Scotty and Fiddy were much taller in person and very nice! We met up with them at the capital building in Des Moines (20 minutes from my house) around 5:15pm. Julia, an acquaintance of mine from Des Moines, and her four kids were there as well. We did some jump shots inside the building and they did some outside also. It is cool to see how they do the jumps. The kids and I didn't do much jumping but it was still really neat to be included. It was awesome to meet them and walk around the capital building with them.

I told them about our barter bus quest and Scotty asked if I knew Kyle MacDonald is his brother. Of course! :~) Kyle's book about his year of bartering for a house is 20 days from the deadline, Scotty said. I bet it will be a funny book because Kyle is quite a very humourous writer. I've read several of his short stories on his website.

Iowa was Hitch 50's 42 state capital to see in less than 40 days. I really admire their stamina and sense of adventure. It was a neat experience for Holden and Camden to meet these down to earth young men from Canada. Holden and Camden are such big fans of their blog videos. And I am fan of people who can bring out the best in others and show the world what one an do with a little tech savvy and imagination.

Hitch 50 Rocks!!! So do Julia and her kids!!! We had a blast!! Just wish Cliff coulda been there! We'll be watching too see how they hitch it Hawaii.

I didn't get any photos of the jump shots. :(

Their driver, Andy, took lots of pics with their camera and maybe with Julia's. I'm sure they'll post one to their blog and to flikr in a day or so. I can't wait!
