Goodbye our four-legged friend

Shadow
Our Free Spirited Cocker Spaniel
June 2000 ~Nov. 5, 2006
Given to us Feb. 13, 2002

She will be greatly missed. Her happy spirit will always live on...Shadow was the best dog we could ask for. She was hit by a car today and she died shortly after. We are very sad. I'll be writing some funny stories about her that we don't want to forget. We want to remember and celebrate her life this week. She was a beautiful and cheerful dog and loving member of our family. She loved her life with us and was a loyal dog. She loved sniffing about for scraps the boys left behind. She made us feel safe and secure too. So much to tell about Shadow. Her life was short, but hopefully full. She knew she was loved.

~Heather

All photos in this post were from yesterday on a gorgeous fall day at the park. Shadow had a fun run in the back of the fenced off park while we played as a family watching her. She loved to chase small animals up trees and sniff around. It brought her so much joy.

Heather, and family,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Shadow in your lives. The loss of a beloved pet is very difficult, though it sounds like Shadow had a great life, with lots of joy and love. I'm sure she was a lucky pet to have you all as her family.

I look forward to reading about the lovely memories of her.
hugs,
Ann

Oh, Heather -
I know how terribly difficulty it is to lose a beloved pet. Be sure to allow yourself and the kids a chance to grieve - she will always be with you in your hearts. A great book to help with the loss of a pet is "The Tenth Good Thing About Barney"- I think it's by Judith Viorst. We are thinking of you!!!
